The Work Without Borders Partnership

Studenterhus Aarhus

Studenterhus Aarhus is a non-profit organisation supporting both Danish and international students across all higher education institutions in Aarhus. As a vibrant cross-disciplinary meeting place, it plays a central role in fostering community, cultural integration, and career development—particularly for international students and graduates.

As lead partner of Work Without Borders, Studenterhus Aarhus coordinates the project and brings extensive experience from previous talent‑retention initiatives. Through activities such as networking events, orientation programmes, and mentoring schemes, the organisation connects international talent with local employers and helps build a more inclusive and welcoming Scandinavian labour market.

Halmstad University

Halmstad University is an innovation‑driven university known for combining education, research and strong collaboration with industry. With around 450 international master’s students and 13 advanced programmes aligned with labour‑market needs, the university brings extensive expertise in attracting and preparing global talent. In Work Without Borders, Halmstad University contributes by developing and testing activities that strengthen students’ orientation, qualification and integration into the Scandinavian labour market. Their motivation is closely linked to the university’s vision of driving regional development by ensuring that international students can thrive, find opportunities and remain in Halland and the Nordic region.

University of Agder

University of Agder (UiA) is a modern Norwegian university with campuses in Kristiansand and Grimstad, known for its strong focus on internationalization and collaboration with regional stakeholders. With 17 English-taught programmes and a large community of international students, UiA is committed to attracting and retaining global talent in the Agder region. In Work Without Borders, UiA contributes its academic expertise, extensive employer network, and research capacity. The university plays a key role in gathering insights, analyzing results, and developing a scalable model for talent retention, ensuring that project outcomes can be applied across Scandinavia.

Campus Varberg

Campus Varberg is a dynamic learning hub offering higher‑education and vocational programmes closely connected to regional industry in Halland, Sweden. As a flexible and innovation‑driven organisation, Campus Varberg serves as a meeting place, a broker of knowledge, and a regional development engine. Their long-standing experience in talent attraction, cross‑border labour market initiatives, and intrapreneurship processes makes them a valuable partner in Work Without Borders. In the project, they contribute with tested methods for preparing international students for the labour market, support pilot activities in Sweden, and help strengthen bridges between international talent and employers across the Scandinavian region.

Erhverv Aarhus

Erhverv Aarhus is a privately funded business association representing more than 700 companies in the Aarhus region. The organisation focuses on strengthening the local business environment through a wide range of initiatives.

As part of the Work Without Borders initiative, Erhverv Aarhus contributes its extensive network and deep expertise to connect international students and graduates with local employers. This engagement is driven by a strong commitment to helping companies improve their recruitment, onboarding, and retention of global talent. Through targeted activities and close collaboration with employers, Erhverv Aarhus supports businesses in becoming more prepared to welcome international professionals and in fostering a more inclusive and competitive labour market across Scandinavia.

Welcome Hub Agder

Welcome Hub Agder is a non-profit organisation supporting newly arrived internationals in navigating life, work, and community in the Agder region. As a partner in Work Without Borders, they play a key role in strengthening networks and employer readiness. They will contribute to developing and testing mentorship programmes, help establish peer networks for international graduates, and support companies through forums and events that promote inclusive recruitment practices. With their mission blomstre, bidra og bli—flourish, contribute, and stay—they bring crucial expertise in welcoming talent, opening otherwise closed networks, and connecting internationals with meaningful opportunities in the regional labour market.

VIA University College

VIA University College is one of Denmark’s largest university colleges, offering more than 40 degree programmes – including nine in English – across the Central Denmark Region. With over 15 years of experience in internationalisation, VIA plays a key role in supporting international students’ transition into the labour market. As a partner in Work Without Borders, VIA contributes deep insights into international talent and access to a broad student population across Aarhus, Viborg, Herning and Horsens. Motivated by a strong mission to strengthen graduates’ employability, VIA engages in co-developing and testing activities that bridge international students with Scandinavian employers and help shape new, scalable solutions for talent retention.

Kristiansand Municipality

Kristiansand Municipality, home to more than 115,000 residents and the largest city in Southern Norway, plays a leading regional role in business development and talent attraction. Through Relocation Agder, the municipality works together with the business community to ensure that newly hired internationals and their families experience a safe and efficient transition to everyday life in Norway.

In Work Without Borders, they actively contributes to career-oriented workshops, cross-border events, ambassador programme, employer-focused networking, and the further development of student jobs and summer-job schemes into year-round opportunities. The ambition is to strengthen international talent retention by fostering employer readiness, improving integration pathways, and building lasting ties between global talent and the regional labour market.

Central Denmark EU Office

Central Denmark EU Office (CDEU) is partner in Work Without Borders, bringing extensive experience from years of supporting cross-regional European projects. As the EU office for major public organisations in the Central Denmark Region, CDEU’s mission is to help regional actors gain value from European cooperation. In this project, CDEU strengthens project management and communication by contributing its knowledge of EU processes and best practices. Their role ensures internal coordination,  dissemination of results, and support for developing a method that benefits partners with high potential but limited prior Interreg experience.
